ANNEALING

Heat Treatment consisting of Heating and Soaking at a suitable temperature followed by cooling under conditions such that, after return to ambient temperature, the metal will be in a structural state closer to that of equilibrium

Batch Sizes up to 30 Tonnes • Max Length 8.0m

NORMALISING

Industrial scene with two glowing red-hot cylindrical metal objects on a bed of bricks, possibly undergoing heat treatment in a factory setting.

Heat Treatment consisting of austenetizing (the point at which the structure of the ferrous product becomes austenitic) followed by air cooling

Batch Sizes up to 30 Tonnes • Max Length 10m

STRESS RELIEVING

Large cylindrical metal tank lying horizontally on bricks in an industrial warehouse with a person in blue coveralls inspecting it.

Heat Treatment including heating to and soaking at a suitable temperature followed by cooling at an appropriate rate in order to reduce the internal stresses without substantially modifying the structure.

Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) to ASME, PD5500, AWS, ASTM, ISO 14745 etc

Fabrications up to 10m length •
Maximum Diameter plates/rings 7.0m

AGE HARDENING

Top view of steel bolts arranged in organized rows on a metal grid.

Precipitation hardening: Hardening of a ferrous product caused by precipitation of a compound from a supersaturated solid solution.

Solution Treatment: Heat Treatment intended to dissolve and retain in solution previously precipitated constituents.

Ageing: Heating and soaking at one or more specified temperatures, followed by appropriate cooling.

Lengths up to 7.4m •. Batch sizes up to 10 T

TEMPERING

Large steel cylinders resting on bricks in a workshop

Heat Treatment applied to ferrous products after quench hardening to bring the properties to the required level.

It consists of heating to specific temperatures (< Ac1 ) one or more times and holding at these temperatures, followed by cooling at an appropriate rate.

Batch Sizes up to 30 Tonnes • Max Length 10m

SOLUTION TREATMENT

Glowing hot metal part under industrial machinery, likely in a forging process.

Heat Treatment intended to dissolve and retain in solution previously precipitated constituents.
